- Thank You for Not Reading
On the southern outskirts of Xanthar lies a main hub of the Ministry of Image, the old news coordination, communication, censorship, and propaganda service of pre-war Khorvaire. Kayla said that she’s heard that all such hubs have secret archives where any number of banned books might be found. The bookseller at Mega Mart would pay handsomely for such volumes.
Update: You’ve found three rare books in the Restricted Archives that should go for a pretty cap.
Update: You’ve traded the rate books in to Tomes’ Booktraders, but she has hinted that there is a far larger repository of books somewhere in the Wasteland. In exchange for your retrieval of 6th Century Giantish Tapestries (last seen in a private library in Starilaskur), she will tell you its location and give you a library card to grant access.
- Hungry, Hungry Hippogriffs
Humpday Ranch is a decently-sized brahmin pasture to the northwest of Mega Mart. They, along with Vault 36 and Parmesan Farms, provide a significant amount of the fresh food available to Mega Mart and, therefore, the broader Brelish Wasteland. Problem is, they’ve been under attack by a pride of hippogriffs. Though they have firepower enough to keep them off the ranch itself, shipments to Mega Mart have been disrupted. Kayla says they need hired guns to protect the meat-laden carts on their way to market.
Update: You were attacked by a talking griffon with an assault rifle and her pride of trained hippogriffs. While slaying all the latter, you chased the former off, fulfilling your contract. However, Slag and his pet gave pursuit, attempting to find the griffon’s nest.
This strange book bound in unsettlingly pale leather was secured in a safe in the Ministry of Image Restricted Archives. It was apparently dangerous enough to warrant study only through a sealed environment. Is it worth translating? Is it dangerous? With whose hands is it safe?
Update: Tomes, the booktrader, seems to know about it without you having told her of its presence. She does not seem to care for the idea of trading for it, having nothing equivalent in worth to do so.
Find out what the program called EC-1101 is, what it does, and why Deuce wants it badly enough to kill a theoretically unlimited number of people for it.

- Shopping Trip
If you’re going to be wandering the Wasteland for a while to throw off Deuce, you’ll need supplies. If you need supplies, you can get them at Mega Mart. If you know how to ask for it, you can also get information.
Updated: You learned that Pel Aldrem, the hateful manager of Mega Mart, was under the influence of a Nightmare. With Brondell’s Dream Warrior powers, you invaded the Nightmare’s Labrynth and vanquished it. Pel Aldrem is a lot less likely to throw you out for no good reason.
